Where did 'ribbon readings' come from?
Ribbon Readings are an ancient Celtic method of prophecy to tell the future. It was considered to have come from wandering gypsies who travelled from place to place. They used them to do readings.
Ribbons were used in numerous ceremonies throughout pagan times. Handfasting during weddings is a ceremony in which ribbons bind and wrap the couple's hands together to symbolise their relationship. The "tying of the knot" in its literal sense. Dancing around the maypole, the dancers would hang on to ribbons as they weaved in and out.
Begin with a wide range of ribbons. You can use a few shades of different colours. Ribbons are a type of Psychometry, you can read them with the senses of touch and sight.
A ribbon reading can be done in a variety of ways, and there is no right or incorrect way to accomplish it. The greatest place to begin is to do what seems natural to you.
Ruffle the ribbons from side to side to release stale energy and to notarise the ribbons so you or your client can work with them.

When completing these ribbon readings on your own, practise will help you polish your insights and learn how your own senses work. It is possible to pose a query and obtain insight using the ribbons. Alternatively, you might just do ribbon readings without a specific question and see what the ribbons come up with.
